An old journal entry

My journal entry dated December 1, 1989:

I am getting a pair of socks for Christmas this year. Last year I got a pair of shoes! That was all, I think that was really cheesy of my parents. They said “when we were kids, we got oranges for Christmas and we were happy.” So for Christmas I am getting them both apples.
